POSITION: Diesel Technology Instructor

CAMPUS: Drumright

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for instruction, curriculum development, job placement of students and documentation of students’ skills and competence in the Diesel Technology program.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Campus Director

SKILLS REQUIRED: Must be able to teach diesel technology skills to secondary and adult students. Good communication skills required. Ability to organize and deliver curriculum that meets industry standards. Provide and maintain a safe, clean, orderly shop environment for students. If employed, applicants will be required to pass a national competency exam during first year of employment.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Three years of industry experience in repairing, maintaining, and operating diesel equipment, specifically trucks and equipment, within the last five years. Applicants must provide documentation of work experience in the areas of brakes, electrical and electronics, preventative maintenance, drive train, suspension and steering and diesel engines as well as experience in shop safety and supervision. Experience teaching/training high school or adult students preferred.

EDUCATION: Industrial training in diesel mechanics; associates degree or technical certification preferred; ASE certification required. Must be eligible for Trade and Industrial Education Teaching certificate through the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technical Education.

STARTING DATE: August 1, 2024

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-month Exempt/Certified Instructional Personnel
