MEDICAL SKILLS AND PREPARATION
Anyone age 16 or older may enroll in a short-term class on a first-come, first-served basis. Certain restrictions may apply. Costs shown are tuition only. Book/supply costs and special testing fees are not included in the tuition cost. Enrollment is taken by the Adult Education/ACD staff Monday through Thursday from 8AM-9:30PM and Friday from 8AM-4PM.
Introduction to Nursing
*Must have Medical Terminology I & II or equivalent to attend
This course focuses on the use of nursing-related theories by practical nurses as care providers in partnership with health team members.
Medical Terminology I & II
Learning the language and terminology used in the medical field prepares students for a career in the healthcare profession. This course begins with fundamental elements of the medical language and progresses into advanced terminology and rudimentary anatomy.
Learn the theory and basic knowledge of pharmacy information systems, regulatory, legal and ethical considerations, drug calculations, terminology and other skills. Pharmacy Tech includes 40 hour externship to be arranged by the ACD staff and instructor. A national certification is available upon successful completion of this program and the national CPhT exam.
