Our History

50+ Years of Truck Driver Excellence

In 1969, the Central Tech Board of Education and Administration set out to develop a quality truck driver training program.

Central Tech felt it should be the mission of at least one technology center in Oklahoma to focus part of its efforts and resources toward serving one of the state’s largest industries – the trucking industry.

The Central Tech Truck Driver Training program utilizes classroom instruction, range, and road driving, as well as, practical application of skills used in highway driving.

Quality Training at Affordable Prices

In 1988, legislative leaders devised a way to upgrade and fund the expansion of the Truck Driver Training Program at Drumright. They were determined to make it “second-to-none” in the nation.

Central Tech continues to upgrade equipment, provide quality instruction, and expand facilities. The latest addition to the on-campus driving range was added in 2018.

Don’t just take our word for it!

“After 12 years of constant training in the service, this course was by far the best I ever attended. I came in with zero knowledge and excelled through all of the sections. Anytime I had questions or was behind on figuring out a maneuver, there would be an instructor to help one on one.”

Kenneth E., Stillwater, OK

“Thanks to Central Tech I can earn a living to provide for my family. Although I broke a drive-shaft the first day in a truck the school was understanding and continued to work with me and helped me obtain all skills to drive a truck. The best instructors and program in the state and very thankful for the opportunity. God Bless Central Tech and the instructors, as well as the office personnel.”

Bobby D., Moore, OK
