Central Tech’s Business Professionals of America (BPA) students traveled to Orlando, Flor. May 8-12 to compete at the 47th Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference. Thirteen students competed and ten placed in the top 3.

 

Three teams from Central Tech’s Business and Information Technology class on the Drumright campus medaled at the competition: the Post-Secondary Global Marketing Team of Hannah Burns (Cushing), Whitney Dodson (Jennings), Elayna Prill (Cleveland) and Lyndsey Wright (Cushing) won gold; the Secondary Parliamentary Procedure Team of Chris Iverson (Depew), Emilie Price (Bristow), Alecia Olinger (Depew), Breawna King (Cleveland) and Aaron Sexton (Stroud) received silver; and the Secondary Global Marketing Team of Myrissa Day (Cushing), Ashley Jones (Cleveland) and Kimberly Minney (Yale) took bronze.

 

Competing as an individual, David Brandly, a Network Security & Administration Drumright student from Mannford, placed 3rd in Post-Secondary Computer Security and Post-Secondary Network Administration using Microsoft. This was Brandly’s second time to compete at national level in these events.

 

Several students also received the National Ambassador Torch Award including; Myrissa Day (Cushing), Ashley Jones (Cleveland) and Kimberly Minney (Yale). According to BPA.org, “Business Professionals of America’s Torch Awards Program frames and guides a BPA member’s leadership and service to their chapter and community.”
