Fechner Pump & Supply, Inc., was named Central Tech’s Partner for Progress and honored at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City on February 25.

“Central Tech is proud to recognize Fechner Pump for their continued commitment to safety,” said Ron Dyer, Central Tech superintendent.

Fechner Pump believes the partnership with Central Tech has directly influenced their safety culture and for 2014 and 2015, they had no recordable incidents.

“We, at Fechner Pump & Supply, Inc., would like to say thank you for your support of our company. It is an honor to be recognized as a valued partner with Central Tech. Central Tech is truly a valuable asset to our community and surrounding area,” says owner John Fechner, Jr.

Because of the expansive course offerings, Fechner Pump was able to take what Central Tech offered and develop an internal buy-in survey. They identified industry specific safety courses and asked their team what would influence them to work safely. They took the employees’ responses and developed safety goals. This single act changed the safety culture of the company. They now develop and post yearly safety goals for staff and customers to see. Customers know safety is an expectation at Fechner Pump & Supply.

When looking for a provider for their safety training, Fechner Pump & Supply, Inc., chose Central Tech because of the solid course offerings that embrace the petroleum industry. Additionally, Central Tech’s flexible scheduling and quality teaching of the subject matter were essential training needs for Fechner Pump.

“We’ve taken a very proactive approach to safety, and we have involved the Pipeline Safety Center in the training for our employees. We’ve really switched the culture around. We went from an employer that had some incidents of workman’s comp to really reducing that to zero. And we believe that through the transitional safety training from Central Technology Center, it’s completely changed our culture and allowed us to do our work safely, which in turn, allows us to provide a better experience to our customers,” says Fechner Pump’s Terry Brannon.

Central Tech is proud to have Fechner Pump & Supply, Inc., as a Partner for Progress, and congratulates them on this award. For more information on Central Tech’s business and industry services, visit CentralTechBIS.com. To learn more about Central Tech visit CentralTech.Edu.
