Central Tech’s FIRST Robotics Team of Pre-Engineering Academy students received a Citations of Congratulations from the state legislators May 14, 2013 after competing at the FIRST Robotics World Championships in April.

The members of team Oklahoma STORM #2389 were recognized for effective teamwork along with problem solving, trouble shooting, and communication skills during the Regional FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC).

The team earned 1st place out of 58 teams in Regionals, and a spot in the world FRC Championship – a competition which began with more than 50,000 high school students.

This process has been a continual learning experience for the students.

“They competed well. They learned a lot. They met many people from around the world in their competition,” said Phil Waul, Central Tech’s superintendent. “We hope all of our [Pre-Engineering Academy] students are pursuing excellent educations in pre-engineering and engineering in the future.”

Central Tech is proud of the honors and accomplishments of Oklahoma Team STORM #2389 and its dedicated instructors and coaches.
