STEM Day is an annual event hosted by Central Tech every March, dedicated to celebrating and promoting the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This year, the event saw enthusiastic participation from 6th to 12th grade students across 13 school districts. Students voluntarily register to take part in a variety of contests and activities designed to challenge and inspire them.
The day’s activities include five different math contests, engineering and scientific problem-solving competitions, and the opportunity to speak to various college representatives. These events provide students with hands-on experiences and opportunities to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for STEM disciplines. By engaging in these contests and demonstrations, students enhance their skills and ignite their passion for future careers in STEM fields.
Schools with the most overall points earn sweepstakes honors. This year, Mannford secured first place in the middle school category, followed by Ripley in second and Cleveland in third. In the high school category, Cushing claimed the top spot, with Kellyville in second and Depew in third place.
