This class equips emergency personnel – police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and other frontline professionals – with essential American Sign Language (ASL) skills to effectively interact with Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals during emergencies.

You will learn foundational ASL vocabulary, phrases, and non-verbal communication strategies tailored to emergency scenarios, including medical assessments, safety instructions, and crisis intervention. The course also explores Deaf culture and communication etiquette to foster respectful and inclusive interactions.
