Early Childhood Development

The CDA class offers a hybrid learning experience, combining on-campus and online elements. On Tuesdays, students attend in-person sessions, followed by flexible online assignments. Campus computers are available if needed. The CDA Pathway curriculum readies students for CDA requirements, and all 10 units can be taken in any order except Unit 10, which is the final step. Successful completion of all units qualifies students to sit for the CDA exam.

This class provides child care providers with safety concepts for everyday issues including written policies and responsibilities for carrying them out.

Understanding Students with Challenging Behaviors

This course provides a functional foundation for working with children with challenging behaviors in early childhood programs. Key components include developmentally appropriate guidance, proactive strategies, preventive and intervention strategies, and adaptations of environment.
